The
Leech Woman
The
Bad Film Society presents yet another precious
but dreadful jewel of a movie.
The
feature is the 1960 Universal horror film "The
Leech Woman." When a decrepit, old mysterious
African woman offers an ambitious doctor the
secret of eternal youth, he decides to take his
estranged and no-longer-young-and-beautiful wife
along with him on a safari to witness the secret
sacrificial ritual. But then the wife finds out
the true reason for their sudden reconciliation
is so that she can serve as his guinea pig. Hell
hath no fury like a woman scorned, especially
one with the murderous secret of endless youth
and beauty!
Film archivist Steven Mayerson is digging especially
deep down in his collection to astound the masses
with more shorts to make you cringe.
Also
stay tuned the fourth chapter of the serial, Tiger
Woman from 1944. Evil oil speculators in South
America attempt to drive away an exotic native
tribe and their hot queen, the Tiger Woman…but
she’s a white woman and might be the lost
heiress to a vast fortune! Actually The Tiger Woman
wore a leopard-spotted outfit because the studio
couldn't find any tiger patterned fabric! It’s
a howler!
Members should bring some great food for a scrumptious
potluck dinner
before the feature. Some bottom feeders just come
for the great food! It
sure beats dumpster diving! |
