THE
BAD FILM SOCIETY SALUTES MICHAEL MOORE, JOHN CANDY
AND THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
In
celebration of the Oregon Primary there will be
a very special election edition of the Bad Film
Society.
Our
feature is about not very nice cabinet members of
a not very bright US president fabricating a war
to boost a not very good economy and get the president
reelected. The dramatic climax takes place in one
of the tallest buildings in the world. Sound familiar?
Michael Moore’s big box office bomb of a movie,
Canadian Bacon was released in 1994. His
only attempt at a fictional film is kind of a stupid
version of Dr. Strangelove and Wag the Dog. Sadly,
it is John Candy’s last feature film. It also
stars Rhea Pearlman, Alan Alda, Rip Torn and Steven
Wright as a Mountie! Actually it is very, very funny
and just a wee bit timely!

Also
stay tuned for the 1936 serial, Undersea Kingdom
starring Crash Corrigan and Lon Chaney, Jr. featuring
robots, spiked tanks and ray guns in the Lost City
of Atlantis! One of the best!
This is an alcohol-free, smoke-free event.
Children are welcome!
